Strategy: Congress Leaders In Delhi To Chalk Out Strategy For Assembly Election | Jaipur News

Jaipur: Congress is actively deliberating over the selection of candidates for forthcoming Assembly polls.
Rajasthan Congress leaders, including PCC president Govind Singh Dotasra and AICC in-charge SS Randhawa, joined a party meeting for the purpose in New Delhi on Friday.
Dotasra and Randhawa, who were in Udaipur and were scheduled to go to Rajsamand on Friday, were summoned to Delhi midway for consultation. Adding to the planning efforts, Congress screening committee chairman Gaurav Gogoi is scheduled for a four-day-long visit to Rajasthan from August 28. During his visit, Gogoi will engage in zone-wise discussions with party leaders to finalise the candidates.
Sources said the leaders were called to Delhi as many committees, including the campaign committee, are yet to be announced. The leaders will call on Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge to extend an invitation to him to lay the foundation for the new party building to be constructed at Mansarovar in Jaipur soon.
The leaders also met the screening committee chairman Gagoi and apprised him of the process adopted for the selection of candidates. The party plans to announce the names of candidates by the last week of September or the first week of October when the ECI is expected to announce the poll dates.
