Nirbhaya Squad: Nirbhaya Squad To Deploy 200 More Cops For Safety Of Women |

Jaipur: The Nirbhaya squad of Jaipur police will deploy an additional 200 women constables ahead of the festive season as part of an ongoing drive against suspects involved in harassing and stalking women.
Additional commissioner of police Rahul Prakash said that the squad will keep a close watch on crowded public places during the festivals. He mentioned that on Diwali, a huge crowd is often seen in the markets.To curb incidents of harassment and provide a secure atmosphere for women, these female constables of the squad will be posted at all important markets. Prakash explained that 91 teams of the Nirbhaya squad are active in all four districts of the city from 10am to late at night, carrying out their work. He mentioned that under ‘Vigilant Jaipur-Safe Jaipur’, action has been taken against suspects involved in stalking and harassing women in more than 200 cases, with around 300 miscreants being arrested and sent to jail. Similarly, 1,046 miscreants were warned, and other actions were also taken against 607. Prakash further mentioned that so far about 119 complaints have been resolved through the Nirbhaya Helpline, while more than 4 lakh women and girls have been made aware of the helpline numbers. Prakash advised all girls and women going to the market or crowded places during the festive season to save these five important numbers of the Nirbhaya Helpline in their mobiles: 8764866090, 8764866091, 8764866092, 8764866093, 8764866094.

Haryana Police to launch ‘Safe Journey’ initiative for enhanced women’s safety
Haryana police is set to introduce the “Safe Journey” initiative to enhance the safety of women and children while using cab or private transportation services. Women will have the option to register themselves by dialing 112 and providing their travel details in advance. The Haryana 112 team will maintain continuous communication with the woman throughout her journey, tracking her location until she reaches her destination safely. Additionally, stickers containing driver details will be placed on public transport vehicles such as Ola, Uber, and autos.

Women perform traditional Sindoor Khela and celebrate the festival
The last day of Durga Puja saw women in the city enthusiastically participate in the traditional ritual of Sindoor Khela. Organized by the Shakti Foundation, the event began with an explanation of the tradition’s significance, followed by a puja. Women dressed in traditional white sarees with red borders offered vermillion to Maa Durga, applied it to each other, and performed the Sindoor Khela ritual. The event also featured the performance of the Navadurga Rockers band, and participants exchanged sweets and danced together to celebrate. The event aimed to promote sisterhood and harmony among women.
