Jaipur: Just two hours after being removed by the police and civic bodies from Tonk Road, hawkers defiantly returned to the exact same spot to sell fruits on Wednesday.
At about 5pm, numerous teams of police and the municipal corporation had swooped down on squatters and seized multiple pushcarts of fruit sellers who habitually encroach upon a significant portion of the road.
However, the hawkers resurfaced at the location shortly after the teams departed.
Sources said that the civic body on Wednesday had launched a same operation in the morning but in vain. TNN
