Alwar: Wife fails to pay dowry, hubby brings men home to rape her | Jaipur News

ALWAR: A 23-year-old woman in Dholpur alleged that she was raped by different men in the presence of her husband because her family could not meet the ever-increasing demand for dowry.
An FIR was registered at Baseri police station in which the woman alleged that her husband brought an unidentified man who raped and beat her up on Saturday. Her ordeal continued when another man also came to rape her on Sunday. The woman told cops that her husband and other accused tortured her after putting chili in her private parts.
The police said that the rape survivor informed her parents who reached Dholpur and rescued her.
The Baseri police station has filed an FIR under Section 371D (gang-rape) of the IPC.
“The woman had got married to her husband about five months ago. She alleged that her husband and his family members kept pressuring her for dowry, and he later sent other men to rape her,” said deputy SP (DSP), Parvendra Singh.
The Dholpur police said that a medical examination was conducted, and FIR was registered against the accused. “The husband and his family members fled when they learned that the woman had gone to file the case against them,” an official said.
The woman in her complaint also alleged that torture for dowry soon after her wedding. “Her in-laws reportedly kept taunting her and attacked her for dowry. When her family could not pay more, the accused allegedly sent men to rape her,” the official said.
The police said that the woman’s parents had quickly arrived in Dholpur to rescue her. They found her in pain and petrified because of the rape and torture. “The family was shocked at the way in which their daughter was treated by her husband, they took her to the police station to file the FIR,” an official said.
SHO (Baseri), Lakhan Singh said that the police were making efforts to arrest the accused. The Dholpur police have handed over the investigation to a deputy SP (DSP) rank official.
