Tiger Kills Caretaker: Tiger Kills Caretaker In Kota’s Biological Park | Jaipur News

Kota: Caretaker of a tiger’s enclosure in Abheda Biological Park here was killed after the tiger attacked him reportedly with its claws causing his neck to break on Friday evening.
The mishap occurred around 5pm when the caretaker of the tiger’s enclosure, identified as Ramdayal Nagar (55-56yrs), was returning after usual medication by spray on the tiger in the cage.
“The gate of the enclosure was most likely left open or loosely bolted after the caretaker applied medicated spray over the animal. When Ramdayal turned back, the uneasy and angry tiger suddenly grabbed his neck,” said an employee of the park.
“Hearing hue and cry from park employees, the tiger retired into its cage leaving the caretaker fatally injured. He was rushed to hospital, where doctors declared him dead,” he said. “The caretaker sustained critical injuries and was rushed to the hospital where he died,” said Bijo Joy, deputy conservator of forest (DCF), Kota.

Officials from the state forest department visited the residence of women and child welfare minister Laxmi Hebbalkar to investigate her son’s wearing of a pendant believed to be made from a tiger claw. The pendant was handed over to the officials and will be sent for testing. Hebbalkar denied that the pendant was made from a tiger claw, stating that it was made of plastic and gifted to her son. She expressed support for the forest department’s initiative to prevent the sale and possession of products made from wild animal body parts.
