Vandalism: Ambedkar Statue Vandalised In Jaisalmer | Jaipur News

Jaisalmer: Statue of BR Ambedkar at a leading crossroad in Jaisalmer was vandalised by unidentified miscreants. They put shoes on hands and head of the statue triggering resentment among the Dalit community.
Police reached the spot and with the help of CCTV cameras started efforts to identify the unidentified miscreants. The municipal council commissioner has lodged a case against unidentified people. Reportedly, on Monday night, anti-social elements lobbed shoes on the statue of Ambedkar in a bid to spoil communal harmony.
Organisations following Ambedkar ideology reached the spot along with tehsildar, municipal council commissioner and city SHO.
There was resentment among members of Bhim Army, Bhim Sena, Ambedkar Shikshak Sangh who staged protest and demanded arrest of the accused.
SHO Satyaprakash said that police found two persons deployed in the park as guards sleeping.
They are being inquired to find out whether the incident took place in front of them. Abhay command cameras installed at the park are are being checked.
Urging people to maintain peace, police assured speedy arrest of the accused.
