Jaipur: Interrogation of arrested shooters Nitin Fauji and Rohit Rathore has revealed the reason why they killed their accomplice Naveen Shekhawat along with killing Shri Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena chief Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi, police sources said on Monday.
The shooters disclosed that Shekhawat had audio recordings of gangster Virendra Charanand had started demanding more money for his work and had even threatened to expose him.Sources said, “An hour before the murder, Naveen had a conversation with the mastermind of the killing, Charan, on his own mobile phone. After that, the two shooters were assigned the task of killing Naveen as well. He was unaware of this.”
Police have also learnt that Nitin Fauji was brainwashed with the help of Bhawani Singh, who was in Gurgaon jail at the time, sources said. Singh convinced Fauji that if he committed the murder, his life would improve and he could enjoy a life abroad. Fauji has told police that he did not know Gogamedi. He said that he was only assigned the task of killing Gogamedi.
“After the murder, he and his family were supposed to be shifted to Canada. He would be paid a substantial amount for the murder, enabling him to open a business in Canada, and the Indian police would not be able to arrest him,” said a police source.

Nitin’s classmates and villagers expressed disbelief, describing him as a good student and expressing shock at his involvement in the incident. The Rajasthan Police conducted searches to apprehend the accused, revealing one is from Haryana and the other from Rajasthan.
