Water Agreement: Water Agreement For New Flats To Become Trend In Jaipur: Builders | Jaipur News

Jaipur: A water agreement between a prospective customer booking or purchasing a flat and a builder is likely to gain momentum in the city. With the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) issuing demand notes for Bisalpur water connection to three residential complexes in the city, developers are claiming that water agreement will be normal for most upcoming high-rise buildings in city.
The three complexes that were issued demand notes in Jaipur are the All-India Services (AIS) Residency in Pratap Nagar’s sector-17, the Ashiana Greenwood, and Vrinda Gardens in Jagatpura.
“With the new water policy for high-rise buildings notified on April 24, 2023, we are hopeful that residential complexes will start receiving Bisalpur water. In fact, the PHED had issued demand notes for three such complexes in Jaipur for the first time. It means builders will have to assure prospective customers that an upcoming project will be connected to Bisalpur water project. Water agreements will play an important role in serving this purpose,” said Ankit Agarwal, who is a part of Jaipur-based real estate company.
Such an agreement will serve two purposes. First, prospective buyers need to pay the required charges for water connection at the time of booking/purchase of flats by signing this agreement.
Builders stated that normally customers prefer paying additional charges at the time of buying rather than paying hefty amount months or years after moving in.
Second, it would be tiresome for the residents to complete the government formalities for a connection. If an agreement is signed with the builder at the time of booking/purchase, customers will be at ease that the builder will ensure to provide the connection when they move in.
“The water agreement is not a new concept. The government had framed a similar policy in 2016. Following this policy, we began signing agreements with our customers and collected the required amount for connections. At present, PHED has issued a demand note for one such building. We will pay the connection charges from the amount that we collected earlier from the residents. Now, water agreement is expected to become a trend in Jaipur,” said Sanjeev Rawat, senior vice-president of Ashiana Housing Limited.

Two high-rise buildings in Jaipur, the All-India Services Residency and Ashiana Greenwood, are set to receive Bisalpur water for the first time. After completing the necessary formalities and payments, the buildings will be connected to the pipeline supply. The policy defines a multi-storey building as one with a height of more than 15 meters, and the domestic drinking water demand will be calculated based on the number of persons per flat. Other applications were rejected as Bisalpur water has not yet reached those areas.
