Water Projects: ‘complete Urban Water Projects By September 30’ | Jaipur News

Jaipur: Taking serious note of urban water supply projects going on at a slow pace, additional chief secretary Subodh Agarwal has directed engineers to complete by September 30 all such projects that have missed deadlines.

“On Tuesday the additional chief secretary reviewed several projects, including 13 urban water supply schemes. A few of these projects had missed deadlines. We have been directed to complete these projects by September 30,” said a PHED official.
At present, 354 urban water supply schemes worth Rs 2,780 crore are in progress across the state. Of these, 40 drinking water schemes cost more than Rs 5 crore, 25 schemes cost between Rs 1 crore and Rs 5 crore, and 289 schemes cost less than Rs 1 crore. These schemes include 21 projects of more than Rs 5 crore in Jaipur-II region.

ACS Agarwal has also instructed engineers to complete the remaining works soon for Phase-I of Bisalpur-Prithviraj Nagar drinking water project, the cost of which is Rs 280.95 crore.
Officials said that in the review meeting it was informed that in this financial year 7,888 illegal water connections were removed from April to June.
