Jmc-greater Hands Out Awards Ahead Of Cleanliness Survey | Jaipur News

Jaipur: JMC-Greater mayor Somya Gurjar on Monday handed out awards to sanitation staff, councillors, market associations and civil society members who played a role in keeping the city clean ahead of Swachh Sarvekshan Survey, 2023.
Gurjar said all these people are like ‘Cleanliness Sainiks’ of Jaipur city as they are continuously working to make the city a better place. “The common man has an important role in keeping the city clean and beautiful. With their cooperation and participation, Jaipur can perform better in the survey. Those who work towards keeping the city clean and beautiful will be honoured by the corporation in future, too,” she said.
JMC Greater plans to engage with more people through a painting competition in the coming times in order to spread awareness among residents regarding cleanliness, she added.
Municipal commissioner Mahendra Soni appealed to the public to not throw garbage in public places and cooperate in keeping the city clean and beautiful. Sanitation workers from different wards were awarded with certificates. Ward 102 councillor Mahendra Sharma was awarded for developing a system for redressal of public grievances.
Self-help groups and companies were also given awards for helping improve infrastructure through CSR.
Six hotels were also awarded for their contribution to keeping the city clean by recycling waste. Market associations from Jhotwara were also awarded. Both the municipal corporations in the city have been working to improve cleanliness arrangements before Swachh Sarvekshan Survey 2023. JMC Heritage organised street plays in the Walled City over the weekend to spread awareness about keeping public places and markets clean.
