Woman’s head blown off as cop’s gun ‘goes off accidentally’
A 55-year-old woman was critically injured after a sub-inspector’s gun accidentally went off inside Aligarh police station. The woman, Ishrat Begum, had come to the police station for passport verification for an Umrah pilgrimage. CCTV footage shows the officer cocking his pistol when it accidentally fired, hitting the woman’s head. The sub-inspector fled the scene and has been suspended. A case has been filed against him for attempted murder.
