Welfare Schemes: ‘return Of Cong Govt In Raj Only Option To Ensure Schemes Go On’ | Jaipur News

Kota/Bundi: Minister of state for sports and youth affairs Ashok Chandna on Monday said the slogan ‘Kaam kiya dil se, Congress phir se’ (We worked with heart, so Congress once again) is an apt for the party in Rajasthan and that development work carried out by the Ashok Gehlot government in the last five years would prompt the people to elect it again.
Speaking to TOI at his residence in Bundi after Commission of India announced Assembly polls would be held in Rajasthan on November 23, Chandna said, “About 45 days are left before the polls, and Congress is fully prepared. Even if the polls happen tomorrow, Congress is ready. Congress put its strategists in the field much earlier, formed the state election committee in time, and activated its workers”.
“The PM’s assertion at a public meeting that BJP, if elected to power, would continue the Ashok Gehlot government’s welfare schemes is a testament to the fact that Gehlot’s welfare schemes are the best ones, not to be found even in BJP-ruled states,” said Chandna, adding that a BJP leader (Alkaji Gurjar) had expressed surprise about execution of Gehlot’s welfare schemes and asked “How is it possible?” The minister said since the welfare schemes started by CM Ashok Gehlot are “not possible by BJP leaders,” return of the Congress government is the only option Rajasthan’s people have to ensure continuance and further improvement of those schemes.

Communal tension in Jaipur escalates as Hindu organizations, supported by the BJP, hold a protest accusing the Ashok Gehlot government of appeasement politics. Traders from Jaipur’s old town join the protest, alleging increased terrorist activities and threats to Hindu shopkeepers.
