Jaipur: A delegation of ministerial employees under Rajasthan Ministerial Employees’ Federation met additional chief secretary (ACS) finance Akhil Arora to discuss their demands. According to the federation’s president Raj Singh Choudhary, Arora said their demands would be discussed with finance secretary (budget) Rohit Gupta.
Ministerial employees, who have been on mass leave since April 10, have decided to boycott the state government’s ‘mehngai raahat camps,’ scheduled to begin on April 24. The ministerial employees started a mahapadav on Shipra Path in Mansarovar for an indefinite period from Monday over the delay in fulfilment of their demands. Around 70,000 ministerial employees of 50 government departments are on mass leave.
The ministerial employees have been demanding equal pay as that of ministerial employees of the secretariat and employees recruited through Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC). Their other demands include restoration of pay to Rs 9,840, one-time relaxation in promotional posts up to Grade Pay 3,600, issuance of notification for recruitment for the posts of panchayati raj department, and issuance of orders for transfers in the panchayati raj department.
“The mahapadav will continue till the government takes a decision on our demands,” said Choudhary.
