Visit homes for tatkal passports, police told
The state home department has issued a circular warning police to physically verify the homes of Tatkal passport applicants if necessary. This comes after an alert from the Centre about crime syndicates offering fake passports, Aadhaar cards, and Pan cards to illegal migrants and anti-nationals. The circular instructs police to thoroughly scrutinize passport applications, verify addresses and identities, and personally visit the applicants’ residences if required to prevent the issuance of Indian passports to illegal migrants. Strict action will be taken against those involved in any wrongdoing.
