Why Gajendra Singh Shekhawat moved court if not involved in scam: Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot | Jaipur News
JAIPUR: Chief minister Ashok Gehlot on Thursday renewed his attack on Union Jal Shakti minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, alleging once again that he and his family were involved in the Sanjivani co-operative scam. Shekhawat hit back, asking if Gehlot was a “CM or a conspirator”.
“Why did he (Shekhawat) approach the high court with the plea for a stay on his arrest if he was not involved?” asked Gehlot after the high court granted the BJP MP from Jodhpur protection from arrest on Thursday.
Gehlot also demanded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi sack Shekhawat from the cabinet as “such a person has no moral authority to be in office”.
Speaking to journalists on the side-lines of a function in Jaipur, the CM said: “He (Shekhawat) should accept the mistake and tell his cohorts to sell off their ill-gotten properties in the country and abroad acquired through the scam and pay back the money of the investors.”
The central minister refuted the allegations. “If the conspirator misuses his authority and wants to prove an innocent person guilty without evidence, the court only decides what is the truth and what is falsehood,” said Shekhawat in response to Gehlot’s latest allegations.
Shekhawat advised Gehlot to practice yoga to “control your anger,”
