Woman Shot Dead By Man For Protesting Against Molestation | Jaipur News

JAIPUR: A 22-year-old woman was shot dead for protesting against molestation inside her house in Batoda area of Sawai Madhopur on Friday. Police said the main accused, identified as Bhanu Pratap, who shot the woman, was a regular visitor to her house and her brother’s friend.
After hearing the gunshots the villagers were alarmed and managed to catch one of the accused and thrashed him by tying him to a tree. Meanwhile police have registered a case of murder and initiated investigations. Accompanied by three others, Bhanu had locked the woman inside a room at her house and tried to molest her.
According to police, the incident took place at 4 pm when the woman was at her home along with her aunt Urmila Devi.
“The accused identified as Bhanu Pratap Meena along with his friends Ankit Meena, Kuldeep Meena and Krishna Meena came to her house and started talking to her. They asked the aunt of the woman to bring some water. As the aunt went inside to bring water the main accused Bhanu Pratap locked the door and started touching the victim inappropriately. When the woman resisted, she was shot on her head. She fell down and succumbed,” said assistant sub-inspector Kirori Lal Meena, Batoda police station.
A team of FSL visited the house on Friday and the accused Bhanu Pratap was admitted to a hospital.
“The main accused Bhanu Pratap is acquainted with the family of the deceased woman and is a friend of her brother. He had been visiting the house for the past five to six years. During one of their family weddings the main accused had even stayed at their house for 15 days,” said a senior officer.
