Woman who accused Rajasthan minister’s son of rape, alleges attack on her in Delhi | Jaipur News

JAIPUR: The 23-year-old woman who had filed a rape case against Rajasthan cabinet minister Mahesh Joshi’s son Rohit, has alleged that she was attacked by two masked men who threw ink at her and threatened her to withdraw the case on Saturday night in New Delhi.
The woman’s Jaipur-based counsel, Nasroodeen Khan said that she was immediately taken to the AIIMS trauma centre for treatment and a medical examination.
The national capital’s Shaheen Bagh police station registered an FIR under multiple IPC Sections including criminal intimidation and voluntarily causing hurt after recording her statements. The police said that the prima facie, the liquid that was thrown at her appeared to be ink.
The woman alleged that she, accompanied by her mother, had arrived in New Delhi about four days ago in connection with the rape case that she had filed against Rohit on May 8 at Sadar Bazar police station.
Upon arriving in New Delhi, she had first checked into a hotel with her mother but faced problems due to electricity there. She then visited a different hotel to find a room on Saturday late evening.
After booking a room in a new hotel, she was returning to her first hotel to get her luggage. She said she was walking on the street with her mother to fetch a taxi when two masked men in an auto-rickshaw intercepted her between 9.30pm to 10pm.
She alleged that the two men threw something at her and then told her to withdraw the case and threatened her that it was just a “trailer,” they pushed her before fleeing from the scene.
“Her condition is stable now, she has been discharged from the hospital and was very scared after the incident,” Khan said.
A Tis Hazari court on Thursday had granted anticipatory bail to Rohit, at the same time directing him to approach the investigation officer (IO). He underwent two extensive rounds of interrogation at New Delhi’s Sadar Bazar police on Friday and Saturday.
“We are going to challenge the accused’s bail in view of the latest incident,” Khan claimed.
