Yatra: ‘people Have Already Given Bjp Message’ |

Jaipur: CM Ashok Gehlot on Wednesday said BJP would “pay a heavy price” for not granting the ambitious Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project (ERCP) the status of national importance.
Addressing Congress leaders and workers from 13 districts at the CMR in preparation for the party’s proposed yatra on the issue in the 13 districts beginning September 25, Gehlot said the people of eastern Rajasthan have already given “a half message to BJP by turning their backs” on the party’s Parivartan Sankalp Yatra there.
“BJP’s yatra is a flop show, and it should introspect why people are not attending their programme… In the assembly polls, BJP should be taught a lesson,” he said, adding that Congress would try to bring in Rahul Gandhi on the yatra’s last day. No government in the country, said Gehlot, has given relief to the people like his government has done. He also claimed that some BJP-ruled states and even PM Modi were forced to reduce LPG prices by Rs 200 a cylinder after Rajasthan government’s decision to provide LPG to Ujjwala beneficiaries at Rs 500 a cylinder.

Congress to start 5-day yatra in east Rajasthan over Centres failure on ERCP
The Congress party in Rajasthan is planning a five-day yatra in 13 districts of eastern Rajasthan to demand national status for the Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project (ERCP), which aims to provide drinking water and irrigation to the region. The project, worth Rs 37,000 crore, has not received approval from the central government despite being submitted in 2017. The party believes that the yatra could gain support from voters, as they feel the Centre has not fulfilled its promise on the project. The yatra is likely to begin after the BJP’s parivartan yatra concludes on September 25.
