‘Gadar 2’: Advance booking of the Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel starrer is in full swing; sells over 30,000 tickets for day 1 | Hindi Movie News
According to reports, over 30, 000 tickets for the Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel starrer have already been sold for day one. ‘Gadar 2‘ will reportedly have a massive opening at the box office with around Rs 25 crores.
However, ‘Gadar 2’ will also be locking horns with Akshay Kumar starrer ‘OMG: Oh My God! 2’ at the box office. OMG 2 also stars Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam in lead roles. Both are sequels of successful first instalments and it would be a treat to see who receives how much love from the audience.
Talking about the big clash, Utkarsh Sharma told ETimes, “It’s good that these two films are releasing together. Akshay sir ki film hai aur Akshay sir ke toh hum bhi fan hai. I’m so happy about the fact that their censor issue was going on and I’ve heard it’s now resolved. It should be celebrated. The way ‘Barbie’ and ‘Oppenheimer’ came together and it was a celebration.”
‘Gadar 2’ will be taking forward the story of Tara Singh and Sakeena. It will also feature Utkarsh Sharma in a key role. In the first instalment, Tara Singh crossed the border to bring back his wife. In the sequel, he will cross the border again but this time, to get his son back. In ‘OMG 2’, Akshay will be playing the role of Lord Shiva in the movie, after essaying the role of Lord Krishna in the first instalment with Paresh Rawal.
