Randeep Hooda and Lin Laishram’s INSIDE VIDEOS from traditional Meitei wedding ceremony in Manipur go viral – WATCH | Hindi Movie News

Surrounded by family and friends, the couple exchanged vows at the Chumthang Shannapung resort, embracing the rich customs of the Manipuri tradition.
The groom, looked dashing in a white ensemble, while Lin Laishram, on the other hand, radiated as a traditional Manipuri bride, dressed in a Potloi or Polloi—a cylindrical skirt made of thick cloth and bamboo, embellished with satin, velvet, gems, and glitter.
Shortly after the couple shared the first photos from their wedding ceremony, videos from the intimate ceremony went viral online. Several video clips featuring the garland ceremony took the internet by storm, with many going gaga over the beautiful traditions and rituals.
The wedding festivities kicked off with the couple and their families visiting the Relief Camp at Moirang Lamkhai and Sendra Tourist Resort, showcasing their commitment to both each other and the local community.
In an interaction with the media, Randeep shared his excitement about embracing Lin’s cultural heritage. He said, “It feels very good. I felt that it’s only respectful to come and marry in the bride’s tradition. However, I have heard that in Meitei love marriages, the groom has to sit for a very long time. So, that’s something, but I am looking forward to the ceremony and traditions.”
He added, “I hope I don’t make any mistakes. We have been talking about their culture, Manipuri culture and all that for a long time. I am looking forward to it and hope that all goes well. It’s like a traditional or cultural exchange. We have been friends for a very long time. We met when we were in the theatres. Since then, we have had a great friendship, which we are now making into a family.”
Lin Laishram reminisced about their journey, stating, “We actually met at Naseeruddin Shah’s theatre group called Motley, and he was my senior. That’s where I met him. We were friends, and it’s turning into a beautiful journey.”
The couple had previously hinted at their impending nuptials through a social media announcement. Randeep took to Instagram, sharing a card with the message, “Taking a leaf out of the Mahabharata where Arjuna married Manipuri Warrior Princess Chitrangada, we are getting married with the blessings from our families and friends.”
The marriage, held on November 29, 2023, in Imphal, Manipur, was followed by a reception in Mumbai, symbolizing a union of cultures. Despite maintaining privacy about their relationship earlier, the couple often shared glimpses of their bond on social media, with Lin posting a birthday wish for Randeep and the duo exchanging Diwali greetings.
As the newlyweds embark on this joyous chapter, Randeep Hooda is gearing up for his role in the film ‘Swatantra Veer Savarkar,’ a biopic of freedom fighter Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, directed and co-written by Randeep himself. The film also stars Ankita Lokhande and promises to be a cinematic tribute to the historical figure known for coining the term ‘Hindutva.’
