Jaipur: Sangaria MLA Abhimanyu Poonia was appointed the president of the Youth Congress in the state on Saturday. Abhimanyu won the Sangaria assembly seat in Hanumangarh district with a margin of 42,010 votes in the recently concluded assembly polls. He defeated BJP’s Gurdeep Singh.
Youth Congress national president Srinivas B V also appointed Sudhinder Moond and Yashveer Shoora as working presidents.
The appointment letter said the “Indian Youth Congress is confident that they will devote their full time and energy to further strengthen the organisation as well as the Congress party under the able and dynamic leadership of Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi.”
Poonia who is said to be a staunch supporter of CWC member Sachin Pilot thanked the national leadership for his appointment. His supporters also took to social media to congratulate him. tnn

Delhi Congress appoints observers to all 14 districts ahead of Lok Sabha polls
In anticipation of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the Delhi Congress has designated observers for all 14 districts. These observers will collaborate with district-level party leadership to fortify the party. Arvinder Singh Lovely, the Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president, unveiled the names of the appointed observers. The observers’ primary task is to recommend the selection of active workers as presidents for all 280 blocks and other office-bearer positions.

Tripura Congress leader Sudip Roy Barman seeks CPM’s support to take on BJP in 2024 Lok Sabha polls in Tripura. In the assembly elections earlier this year, CPM-led Left Front formed an alliance with Congress to defeat BJP-IPFT. Tripura has two parliamentary constituencies – West Tripura and East Tripura. Congress contested 13 seats in the last elections, while Left Front fielded candidates in 47. Roy Barman wishes CPM to support Congress to defeat BJP in the state.
