After Redevelopment, Jaipur Rly Stn To Cater To 1.5 Lakh Passengers Daily | Jaipur News

Jaipur: The Jaipur Junction railway station will be able to cater to about 1.50 lakh passengers daily after its redevelopment which will be completed after three years. The redevelopment work of the railway station was reviewed by Jaipur MP Ramcharan Bohra and senior railway officials on Wednesday.
The railway station is being redeveloped keeping in view the requirements for the next 40 years, the MP was told. It is one of the ten stations being renovated in the state and will be upgraded with airport-like facilities.
The member of parliament was informed by officials about the passenger facilities that will be provided at the station, parking arrangements, pick and drop routes, design of building and maximum space utilization as part of the redevelopment.
Bohra also took detailed information about the work going on at Gandhinagar, Khatipura and Sanganer railway stations.
After redevelopment, the Jaipur station will have parking space for 400 vehicles, more facilities for food and shopping like at airports. A skywalk will be made connecting to the metro station.
“Jaipur Junction is being developed for the requirements by the year 2061-62. The station will be able to handle the movement of 1.50 lakh passengers on average daily. Currently, 1 lakh passengers travel daily from Jaipur Junction. The redevelopment started on September 30, 2022 and will be completed in April 2026. The redevelopment work at Gandhinagar station will be completed in the next two years,” said a senior official from Jaipur railway station.
The official said that the redeveloped station will have arrival from the front side and departure from the rear side with different entry and exit points to improve safety and movement
