JAIPUR: In the run-up to the assembly polls, the BJP plans to start eight campaigns, including women-centric ones, in Rajasthan from the first week of May. Before that, BJP women national office-bearers will camp in all districts of the state on April 29 and 30.
Locked in a tight contest with Congress, it is going to be about welfare schemes and social engineering.
Taking an aggressive approach to bring women to the party fold ‘Mahila Pravasi Abhiyan’ will be initiated with an aim to provide information about the Central government schemes related to women.
A senior BJP party worker said, “Around 1,000 women party workers aged between 18 and 50 will campaign in different regions to connect with women voters. In the past, more than 30 lakh women workers have participated in BJP programmes in the state.”
For the first time in the state, BJP is also coming up with a strategy to reach out to people from all walks of like including doctor, engineers, and others. BJP are tapping these professionals and influential hoping one person can convenience or influence at least 50 voters.
State general secretary Bhajan Lal Sharma said, “The BJP leadership will ramp up its election pitch in poll-bound state with a massive programme. The party at the booth level has already started campaigns to connect voters and inform them about the Congress jungle raj. Many campaigns including connecting youth, new voters, women, and others will be launched to apprise the residents about the failure of the Congress government. On the basis of the problems of the state assemblies, the BJP is connected with the common people after organising Jan Aakrosh Rath Yatras, Mahasabhas and Mahagherao.”
Strengthening the booth army, the BJP has set up its teams at 1,126 mandals, 8,392 Shakti Kendras, 51,187 booth levels. “On its foundation day April 6, the BJP distributed identity cards to 51,187 booth presidents. BJP has given a slogan to the workers — Booth Vijay Sankalp Hamara. A team comprising of 21 party workers along with the booth president has been constitute. BJP national general secretary and state in-charge Arun Singh made inspection in the districts to strengthening party. Similarly, state BJP general secretary, Chandrashekhar have held the meeting at every booth to boost the morale.”
