Hailstorm: Villages In 15 Dists To Get Aid For Crop Failure Due To Heavy Hailstorm | Jaipur News

Jaisalmer: Villages in 15 districts have been declared scarcity-hit due to crop failure caused by heavy hailstorms in the past few months, with Barmer district having the highest number of such villages at 1,310.

The state government had ordered an assessment of the damage caused to rabi crops due to hailstorms, in which more than 33% crop damage was reported in several villages, which have now been declared as scarcity hit. Officials said that besides 1,310 villages in Barmer, there are 393 such villages in Bharatpur, 292 in Jalore, 136 in Bikaner, 110 in Udaipur, 98 in Nagaur, 96 in Jhalawar, 56 in Hanumangarh, 42 in Alwar, 29 in Dholpur, 9 in Kota, 6 each in Bundi and Sriganganagar, 4 in Baran, and 1 in Ajmer.
Farmers affected in these villages will be given agricultural inputs and grants by the state government as per SDRF norms. TNN
