Nitesh Tiwari‘s ‘Ramayan’ with a stellar cast of Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Yash is undoubtedly one of the most awaited films in Bollywood. While fans are eagerly waiting to watch the actors essay the role of Lord Ram, Sita and Raavan on the big screen, reports are now rife that the ‘Darlings’ actress has walked out of the film.
Yes, you read that right! According to a report in Pinkvilla, Alia, who was supposed to portray the role of Sita has quit the film owing to date issues.The report also added that Ranbir is still a part of the film.
Ramayan was reportedly slated to go on floors in December this year. However, there seems to be a shift in timeline. The report stated that the three-part film is still in the pre-production stage and might not complete prep by December.The report also went on to add that the look test for Yash is still on and he is still in the talks to be a part of the film. However, the makers are optimistic about getting the actor on board for the project. Yash has also reportedly committed to National Award-winning director Geethu Mohandas for a big-scale action thriller, so his casting in the Ramayana depends on what he prioritizes.

Earlier, when asked if they are being extra cautious about the film after the backlash that Om Raut’s ‘Adipurush’ received, Nitesh had said in an interview that they don’t feel the need to be extra cautious as he is confident that he won’t make content that would hurt the sentiments of the audience. ‘Adipurush’ starred Prabhas, Kriti Sanon and Saif Ali Khan in lead roles.

To be directed by Nitesh Tiwari and Ravi Udhyawar, ‘Ramayan’ is expected to go on floors in mid-2024.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Alia was last seen in Karan Johar’s ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani‘ co-starring Ranveer Singh. She also made her Hollywood debut with ‘Heart of Stone’.
