Kartik Aaryan has turned down a chance to be in Border 2, reason revealed – Exclusive | Hindi Movie News

Following the blitzkrieg of Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2, everyone wanted to know if Border 2 was also on the cards. While Sunny Deol did reveal in interviews that the project was shelved back in 2015, ETimes did some digging around to find out what exactly transpired. Our source revealed that not only is the project back in reckoning, filmmaker JP Dutta‘s production house is in the process of assembling an all-new cast.
Our source told us that the makers recently approached Kartik Aaryan to be part of a totally revamped all-star cast. A script was shared with Kartik for him to consider one of the leading roles in the action-packed war sequel. But it turned out that what was penned on paper didn’t quite excite Kartik. The young star is also not keen on featuring in multi-starrer projects. Border 2 is being pitched as an ensemble cast project. Well, things didn’t work out and Kartik opted to turn down the offer.

JP Dutta had directed the 1997 hit, Border, where Sunny Deol, Suniel Shetty, Akshaye Khanna and Jackie Shroff played lead roles. Dutta’s production house wants to assemble an equally impressive cast of young talents for the sequel and that’s why they’ve reached out to the young blood of Bollywood. Now that Kartik has walked away from the project, our source tells us that other young stars might have been approached, too.
It’s possible that the makers have made an offer for Suniel Shetty’s son Ahan Shetty to feature in Border 2. Also in consideration is Ayushmann Khurrana. ETimes will follow up on these leads and bring you more updates on this ambitious sequel. Stay tuned.
