Jaipur: Direct flights to seven new destinations are likely to start from Jaipur airport in the winter schedule, officials said. Indigo and Spice Jet airlines have expressed interest to start new flights to Agra, Khajuraho, Varanasi, Bagdogra, Jaisalmer, Bhopal and Patna. “A substantial increase in passenger traffic is expected during the winter season, which is also the peak tourist season in Rajasthan,” said an airport official. Direct connectivity to Bhopal and Patna was earlier announced in the summer schedule but Indigo airlines could not operate due to technical issues, said officials. “The airlines is now opening the two routes in the winter schedule. Direct flight to Jaisalmer also starts every year during winter,” added the official. TNN
