Pilot: Cong Can Win State Polls If High Command Brings Together Gehlot & Pilot: Raj Mlas | Jaipur News
Jaipur: Congress MLA from Kekri Raghu Sharma, who is also the AICC in-charge for Gujarat, said former deputy CM Sachin Pilot was justified in seeking an inquiry into the alleged corruption during the previous Vasundhara Raje government.
He said “Under the leadership of Pilot, we all contested the elections together and formed the government. I also contested the Lok Sabha and assembly elections in which the biggest issue was that of the previous BJP government’s corruption. So it was not a wrong demand of Pilot,” he reasoned.
Another MLA Rakesh Pareek, Masuda (Ajmer) a Pilot loyalist said, “No one can stop the Congress from returning to power in Rajasthan if the party high command brings together warring leaders Ashok Gehlot and Sachin Pilot, calling for unity in the party.
“Rahul Gandhi and the party high command have called both Gehlot and Pilot assets of Congress. If the party contests elections by bringing them together, no one can stop the Congress from winning the polls again,” he said.
“I told them about the influence of Pilot in Ajmer. He has been an MP from Ajmer and there is a big number of his supporters,” he said.
The party has convened one-on-one meetings of its MLAs with party in-charge SS Randhawa, chief minister Ashok Gehlot, and PCC president Govind Singh Dotasra in the next three days to get feedback from MLAs on the party’s prospects in the upcoming elections.
The first day on Monday was dedicated to MLAs from Ajmer and Jodhpur divisions.
The MLAs were given a questionnaire of 13 questions including caste and religious profile of the constituency, performance on a scale of 10, five schemes which have a profound impact on his constituency, social media followers and handlers, the impact of the recent announcement of new districts, influence of third front, among others..
