Rajasthan elections: Congress manifesto promises 10 lakh jobs, MSP guarantee act

JAIPUR: The Rajasthan Congress party on Tuesday released its manifesto, which promises to hold a caste survey for informed affirmative action, 10 lakh jobs including four lakh separate panchayat-level care in government, and a minimum support price guarantee act in the state along with other guarantees.
The party pledged to increase the amount of the ‘Chiranjeevi’ scheme– the Mukhyamantri Nishulk Chiranjeevi Swasthya Bima Yojana from Rs 25 lakh to Rs 50 lakh annually.

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge along with chief minister Ashok Gehlot, and former deputy chief minister Sachin Pilot were among those who released the ‘Jan Ghoshna Patra’ – at the state party office in Jaipur.
The party said it is committed to enacting a specific law to implement the Minimum Support Price (MSP) called the Minimum Support Price Guarantee Act, following the Swaminathan Committee’s recommendations.
The manifesto promises Rs 2 lakh interest-free loans to farmers and Rs 5 lakh interest-free loans to small traders under Vyapari Credit Card scheme like the Kisan credit card scheme. The party promised to hike the employment days under NREGA in rural and urban to 150 days from the present 125 days.
It said the LPG cylinder to Ujjawla and NFSA beneficiaries would be further reduced to Rs 400. Currently, it is being given at Rs 500. Gig workers welfare Act will be amended to include auto and taxi drivers.
Manifesto drafting committee chairman CP Joshi said the document is based on the over 3 crore suggestions received under mission 2030 launched by the government earlier.
Chief minister Gehlot, after releasing the manifesto, said that his government is aiming to achieve the number-one position in per capita income in the country.
