Jaipur: A 72-year-old man was mauled by a leopard in Natata village under Amer Tehsil of Jaipur on Thursday morning. The elderly man, identified as Shivdayal Meena, received severe wounds on his head, face, legs, and hands and was subsequently admitted to SMS Hospital. The man was attacked while grazing cattle in the forest area.
The leopard suddenly appeared and attacked him. However, the man resisted and forced the animal to flee but, in the process, sustained severe injuries.
A forest official said, “The incident occurred early in the morning, around 7 am, when Meena had gone to the forest. The leopard, lurking in the bushes, attacked Meena and held him by his neck. He was critically injured. He was rushed to the hospital, where he received treatment.” The forest team initiated a search operation to locate the animal. “Since the leopard has tasted human blood, it must be located and its behavior observed. It could attack other people too,” said an official. TNN
