Shoojit Sircar who couldn’t be present at the National Awards ceremony, congratulates his ‘Sardar Udham’ team | Hindi Movie News

The 69th National Award winners were felicitated today in Delhi. The awards ceremony took place this afternoon at Vigyan Bhavan, Delhi. The winners were announced on August 24 in Delhi by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. Alia Bhatt, Kriti Sanon were in the capital today to receive their ‘Best Actress’ honours. Meanwhile, Allu Arjunwon the ‘Best Actor’ for ‘Pushpa’.Other winners present at the occasion included R Madhavan, Vivek Agnihotri, Pallavi Joshi, SS Rajamouli, MM Keerawani among others.
Shoojit Sircar‘s ‘Sardar Udham’ also won five awards this year, including the ‘Best Hindi Feature Film’. Congratulating all the winners of his team, Shoojit says, “It saddens me the most not to be present at the National Film Awards ceremony. However, we had all our National Award team members shining brightly at the podium. Thank you and a big congratulations to my producers, Ronnie and Sheel, and the entire team of Sardar Udham for making this dream come true for many.” The director couldn’t be present at the occasion. We believe, he’s presently out of the country, shooting for his next film with Abhishek Bachchan.
‘Sardar Udham’ also won in categories like ‘Best Cinematography’, ‘Best Costume Design’, Best Production Design’ and ‘Best Autobiography’.
‘Sardar Udham’ celebrates the patriotism and valour of freedom fighter Sardar Udham Singh. It had Vicky Kaushal in the titular role. When the winners were announced, Vicky Kaushal had congratulated his team members and said that he’s grateful to be a part of this film. He had said, “Congratulations team!!! Honoured and grateful to be a part of #SardarUdham … To Irrfan Sir! ❤️🙏🏽”

Vicky was also nominated in the Best Actor category. But, Allu Arjun won.
