Goswami: Bundi Collector Goswami Dons Doctor’s Robe To Treat Patients | Jaipur News
Kota: Amid doctors’ protest against the Right to Health (RTH) Bill, Bundi district collector Dr Ravindra Goswami, who also holds an MBBS degree, took to the forefront at the district hospital on Wednesdayto medically examine the patients and to prescribe them medicines accordingly.
Despite the mass leave by doctors at government hospitals and strikes by private hospitals, patients were seen flooding to the government hospital since morning on Wednesday. Doctor Goswami examined the patients in the emergency ward for over two hours. Doctor Dhanraj Madhur, orthopaedist and principal medical officer (PMO) of the hospital Dr. Prabhakar Vijay also examined the patients with the collector.
Notably the collector had sustained a ligament fracture in one of his legs earlier this month and was advised for bed rest. Still he reached the hospital on a support and inspected all the wards including the trauma ward, CT scan facility in the hospital.
Talking to the media, Dr Goswami said, “Once a doctor is always a doctor.”
He added that he frequently examines patients and appealed to the doctors on strike to attempt to get their demands fulfilled without causing any inconvenience to the patients. “There will be some inconvenience due to mass leave but they will be able to handle the situation,” he said
Wheelchair bound, 75-year-old Kalibai from Khatawda village in the district was running from pillar to post with her grandsons in the hospital for a CT scan in the morning before the collector reached there.
