Jaipur Truck Accident: Driver burnt alive as truck falls off flyover in Jaipur | Jaipur News
JAIPUR: A 35-year-old truck driver was burnt alive after a multi-axle truck fell off a flyover on the Ring Road and went up in flames early Tuesday morning.
Shivdaspura police SHO Om Prakash Matwa said that the victim was identified as Tarun Kumar, a resident of the Alwar district. His charred remains were found inside the truck’s cabin. As per the police, the incident took place shortly after 5 AM when the truck careened off and fell 20 feet below a flyover.
Police said that the truck caught fire as soon as it fell. “The truck was transporting heavy iron angles. It was travelling from Kanota and headed towards Ajmer Road. The primary probe indicates that the driver somehow lost control over the wheels,” said an official.
The locals informed the control room about the incident and saw that the truck was up in flames. The fire tenders reached the scene and doused the flames.
Cops said that the driver’s body was stuck inside the truck’s cabin and was shifted to the mortuary of a private hospital after an arduous operation.“The truck was removed with help of a crane machine. We have informed the victim’s family members about the incident. They are on their way to Jaipur,” said an officer.
