SUV Market: Exter Will A Volume Churner: Hyundai Coo Tarun Garg | Jaipur News

Jaipur: Hyundai Motor India on Thursday said that its smallest and most affordable SUV in the country will be a volume churner and contribute to its expectation of achieving 60% market share in the SUV segment.
Chief operating officer Tarun Garg said that Hyundai has 54% market share in the SUV segment and is expected to reach 60% by the end of this year.
“Exter has already received 14,000 bookings, including 1100 from Rajasthan. The SUV will generate good volumes and help us in reaching the 60% market share mark.” The SUV was launched at an introductory price starting from Rs 6 lakh and going up to Rs 10 lakh for the top variant (all prices ex-showroom).
Speaking of the performance in the first half of the current calendar year, Garg said that Hyundai’s sales have grown by 10.5% against 9.9% of the growth achieved by the industry.
Entry level micro-SUVs are a new flavour of the season with budget-conscious buyers seeking style, safety and the latest features at affordable costs. “On all fronts, be it safety, style or features, Exter has everything to offer,” added Garg.
