Cong’s ‘hath Se Hath Jodo’ Drive From Today | Jaipur News
JAIPUR: The Congress will kick off its ‘Hath Se Hath Jodo’ campaign on Thursday as a follow-up of the Rahul Gandhi-led Bharat Jodo Yatra, which would culminate in Srinagar on January 30.
In the two-month-long campaign, the party will reach out to 6 lakh villages, 2.5 lakh panchayats and 10lakh booths, said AICC spokesperson and former Delhi MLA Alka Lamba while addressing a press conference here on Wednesday.
She said ever since the Modi government came to power at the Centre, unemployment and price rise have touched their peak. She alleged that while a few rich have become super rich, the poor have been marginalised.
Lamba said from 1947 to 2014, the total debt of the country was Rs 55 lakh crore, which has now increased to Rs 155 lakh crore in the eight years of Modi rule.
Under the Modi dispensation, more than Rs 10 lakh crore of loans of businessmen were waived as non-performing assets of banks.
Alleging concentration of power and wealth in the hands of a few, she alleged that 60 per cent wealth of the country is in the hands of 5 per cent rich while 50 per cent of the population has only access to 3 per cent of the wealth.
