Pilot not looking to break away, form new party: Cong | Jaipur News

JAIPUR/NEW DELHI: Amid growing buzz that Sachin Pilot may take a drastic action next week in view of his stand-off with Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot, Congress on Tuesday said the agitated leader is not looking to form a new party.
Meanwhile, sources said Pilot has no plans of holding a rally on June 11, which is being speculated as the date for him to announce his decision to break away from Congress.
AICC Rajasthan in-charge Sukhjinder Randhawa, who reached Jaipur for organisational stock-taking, indicated that there may be an organisational reshuffle soon to quell the rumblings. The rejig may be about the announcement of election panels like campaign committee and manifesto panel among others.
Pilot to hold meet on June 11
A Pilot aide said that June 11 is the death anniversary of the young leader’s father and late Congress stalwart Rajesh Pilot. “Pilot will hold a prayer meeting in Dausa, which he has been doing for the last 22 years,” he said.
Sources close to Pilot said he is firm on his demand for a probe into corruption charges during the BJP government as also about reconstitution of Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) in view of paper leaks, and he is awaiting a word from the leadership. But the speculations of a rally and announcement are not correct, they said.
As the buzz grew about Pilot’s next step, Randhawa told reporters, “I am hearing this from you. There is no such thing. He neither had such a plan earlier, nor does he have such a plan now.”
The denial of any extreme step from both the Pilot camp and Congress, however, has not ended the stand-off between Gehlot and his bete noire, as sources said the separate meetings of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge with Pilot and Gehlot last week did not result in any resolution.
However, speaking to reporters, Randhawa said the formula that was decided in the meeting in Delhi on May 29 was known to both Gehlot and Pilot, but it cannot be disclosed to the media. “When the time comes, everyone will be given responsibility. Leaders will be given responsibility according to their stature, soon everyone will be given responsibilities.”
