Jda Floats Tender For Stalls Under Dravyavati Project | Jaipur News

Jaipur: To make use of the Dravyavati river project commercially, the JDA finally floated a tender for the stalls located at the Bird Park opposite to the Bani Park police station.
Officials claimed the JDA would also make commercial utilisation of the other two parks of the project – Landscape Park on Shipra Path in Mansarovar and the Botanical Park in Bambala – soon.
“We have started with the stalls at the Bird Park. Once we complete allocation, we would start tender for the cafeteria-cum-museum at the park. Then we would switch to rest of the parks,” said a senior JDA official.
It means, in near future, visitors might need to pay entry fees at the three parks developed as a part of this project and can enjoy foods and buy souvenirs from the stalls inside these parks.
Officials said, four years after the inauguration of the Dravyavati river rejuvenation project, the JDA is finally using this project commercially. It happens after a prolonged legal works.
“As per the agreement once the project is completed the turnkey contractors will hand over the project to us and they would get the maintenance rights for the next 10 years. The agreement states that JDA would utilise the project commercially and would also pay maintenance charges to the contractors. Now, that the JDA is paying the maintenance charge, we can use the project commercially,” a senior JDA official explained.
At the time of project implementation TATA Projects – one of the important agencies in the consortium – had given a blueprint on how government can generate revenue from this project.
“At the Botanical Park in Bambala we have a huge food court. We want to float tender for the food court once we finish off with the Bird Park,” another JDA official said.
