Student Drowns In Pond, One Rescued | Jaipur News

Jaisalmer: A class-12 student drowned while another was rescued when the duo was out to take bath in it in Barmer city on Thursday morning. The deceased boy was caught in the silt and the body could be taken out after 4 hours. He was taken to the district hospital where he was declared dead. BSF civil defence police and local drivers had a very great difficulty to count the body after 4 hours.
According to police, some students of a government school in Barmer went towards the pond during lunch time. Out of the two students, who plunged into the pond to take bath, the deceased Deepak Singh, a resident of Laxmi Nagar, was stuck in the silt and could not come out.
Police said a person passing along the pond saw the children drowning. He immediately jumped to save them but only one of the boys could be rescued. Deceased Deepak Singh’s father said that his son had gone to school in the morning and around 12:00 p.m. he got the information that his son had drowned.
