Maharani Girls College: Another Student Harassed Outside Maharani College | Jaipur News

Jaipur: Security arrangements outside Maharani Girls College remain spotty despite repeated harassment incidents faced by girls outside the campus. ABVP leader Twinkle Sharma said that a miscreant on Friday allegedly misbehaved with a girl at the bus stop outside the college. The leaders met college authorities even as an FIR was registered at the Lal Kothi police station.
Another student leader, Bharat Bushan Yadav said that police presence is sparse leading to such incidents. Last year several girls protested after a car driver was arrested for obscene acts outside the college. Students said that college and police authorities had promised to beef up security, but no concrete measures were taken.
Lal Kothi police station house officer (SHO) Surendra Singh said that the accused, Amit Kumar, was arrested under 151 (arrest to prevent the commission of cognizable offences) of the CrPC.
DCP (South) Yogesh Goyal also met the college authorities. “We will deploy a Nirbhaya squad for patrolling, and a fixed picket will be set up to check miscreants,” he said.
