Jaisalmer: Union agriculture minister Narendra Singh Tomar and minister of state for agriculture Kailash Choudhary held a meeting with insurance company officers in New Delhi on Wednesday over alleged anomalies in crop insurance given to farmers in Barmer district. They directed the company officers to release additional Rs 229 crore for the farmers. Once the amount is added, Rs 540 crore would be disbursed among farmers as insurance claims against crop damages.
