Gogoi: Gogoi Meets Cong Ticket Hopefuls For Second Day | Jaipur News

JAIPUR: The Congress screening committee chairman Gaurav Gogoi continued meeting leaders at the party war room in Jaipur for the second day on Tuesday.
The second day was scheduled for party leaders from Jaipur, Ajmer, Bikaner, and Sikar divisions. Ticket seekers or their supporters came to meet Gogoi and stake claim for their Assembly polls.
Gogoi will meet leaders from other districts on Wednesday and leave for Udaipur on Thursday.
Mostly the sitting MLAs and former MLAs, MPs met the screening committee and put forward their claim for the party tickets. Since neither AICC in-charge SS Randhawa nor chief minister Ashok Gehlot was present in the meeting, the enthusiasm of leaders was very low.
Though the screening committee members were scheduled to meet party leaders in divisional groups as they did not reach in groups, the committee held one-on-one meetings.
Congress MLA Raghu Sharma after the meeting with Gogoi said he visited three districts as PCC delegate and the enthusiasm of workers has been tremendous. He said thousands of party leaders applying for tickets is an indication that the party is poised for an emphatic come back.
Minister Govind Ram Meghwal endorsing senior BJP leader Kailash Meghwal allegations of corruption against union minister Arjun Ram Meghwal said Arjun Ram had nothing to do with politics and a non-politician. He said as Churu collector he had indulged in corruption.
The minister also alleged that during the time of corona Arjun Ram Meghwal claimed that eating ‘babhi ji papad’ will save people from Corona. He alleged that he was promoting ‘papad’ after getting money from a businessman. He also accused him of superstitious.
The contending Congress leaders for the ticket have also tried to tarnish the image of their competitors.
Chaksu MLA Ved Prakash Solanki reached PCC war room with supporters after some leaders raised slogans against him in the morning in front of the war room.
Solanki reached the war room later with his supporters shouting slogans in support of him and demanded an investigation into corruption charges against all MLAs.
He said, “If I am corrupt then agencies should get this investigated I demand screening committee chairperson Gogoi to get the corruption charges investigated.”
