Stalking Offences: Offences Of Stalking, Harassment To Be In Character Certificates | Jaipur News

Jaipur: Following the directions of chief minister Ashok Gehlot, the Rajasthan police issued an order on Thursday to include information in the character verification certificates of individuals who have been charegesheeted or bound down for stalking and harassing women.

ADGP (Crime) Dinesh MN directed all district officers to include in character verification certificates information of individual chargesheeted in cases related to molestation, harassment, stalking, or other unwelcome acts against women and minors.
According to the order, upon receiving complaints pertaining to such cases, a separate register will be maintained to document preventive measures taken against the accused, such as exeuction of bound down orders. Additionally, details of preventive actions will be mentioned in the certificates.

Dinesh further clarified that when information is received about minors being involved in molesting women and girls, the minor would be counseled in the presence of their family members. “This is an extremely significant measure to ensure the safety of girls and women in the state,” he said.
A few days ago, Gehlot had stated that police had been instructed to take action against individuals engaged in stalking and harassing girls and women. He also said that their names would be provided to the RPSC and the staff selection board.
