Jmc: Jmc-g Dy Mayor Urges More Items On Agenda | Jaipur News
Jaipur: Ahead of the general body meeting of JMC-Greater on June 27, deputy mayor Puneet Karnawat has written to mayor Somya Gurjar for adding 16 items to the agenda of the meeting. These pertain to various issues, including cleaning of drains, renaming of roads, improving waste collection, and pending payments for old projects.
Talking to reporters, Karnawat said there should be a discussion on a comprehensive action plan for door-to-door waste collection and removal of open garbage depots.
“There are problems that councillors have been reporting regarding development works worth Rs 80 lakh in 150 wards of the corporation. A detailed discussion is needed on that, which should be added to the agenda. Discussion is also needed on problems in the ‘Prashasan Shehro Ke Sang’ campaign which is being run to give out land leases. The corporation is also facing problems in the recovery of urban development (UD) tax and advertisement fees. An action plan is needed to speed it up and for that, discussion by all councillors is important,” said Karnawat.
He said he had requested the mayor to add in the agenda discussion on the problems in maintenance and installation of new streetlights and park lights, increasing the income of JMC-G by auctioning properties of the corporation, and administrative laxity in issuing fire NOCs.
