Domestic help shot dead in Jaipur, one held | Jaipur News

JAIPUR: A 38-year-old woman working as a help at Kaveri Path in Mansarover was shot dead on Tuesday. The accused kept misleading the police claiming that he was showing the pistol to his 12-year-old daughter when it accidentally fired. However, the man was arrested in the evening for the murder and for violation of arms Act.
According to police, the incident took place at 2.30 pm when Suman Devi came to the rented house of the accused identified as Rambir (26).
“The accused who earns his livelihood by selling fruits claimed that his friend had given him the pistol to keep it for sometime. On Tuesday, when Suman Devi came, he was displaying the gun to the little girl and the woman in excitement. Later, he gave the gun to the girl for playing and the girl accidentally fired. However, when we sternly asked him, he said he accidently fired in which the woman was killed,” said a senior police officer of Jaipur (South) DCP (South) Harendra Mahawar said, “He was making stories. Prima facie it appears that while he was showing the gun he had ignorantly cocked the gun and later fired. It is a murder case as the weapon is illegal and we have reported a killing. The accused was detained for questioning and was arrested late in the evening.”
According to police, after the woman with bullet injury fell down on the floor, the accused asked his 12-year-old daughter to tell police that she had accidently shot the gun. After the incident, neighbours reached the spot and intimated police. “He was changing his statements every now and then. Now, we have to investigate the reason for the murder. Prima facie it appears to be accidental, still we will probe into other angles,” said an officer.
