Pilot Calls: Pilot calls for ‘self-analysis’ by Congress to find causes of defeat | Jaipur News

Jaipur: After Congress lost power in Rajasthan, factionalism in the party’s state unit is likely to intensify. Former deputy chief minister Sachin Pilot on Monday demanded a brainstorming on the causes of the party’s failure to reverse the trend of changing government every five years.
“We tried very hard to break the tradition (of revolving chairs), but despite making every effort, we could not succeed.Certainly, this is a matter of concern. Every time after we form a government, we are unable to repeat it. This time the same thing happened again. We will have to introspect on this and do a very honestself-analysis about it to find out where the shortcomings lie,” said Pilot in an interaction with journalists in Tonk, his assembly constituency.
Pilot expressed surprise at outgoing CM Ashok Gehlot’s OSD Lokesh Sharma targeting him (Gehlot) for the defeat. “I have seen the statement of the chief minister’s OSD. The statement was surprising. It is also a matter of concern. I hope the party will pay attention to it,” said Pilot. “If Congress had won in these three states, we would have got a lot of strength,” he added, asking party workers to look forward to the challenges ahead. Knives out: OSD dubs defeat as that of Gehlot, not Congs
Chief minister Ashok Gehlots officer on special duty (OSD) Lokesh Sharma blamed him for the defeat in the assembly polls. Five of Gehlot’s six advisors failed at the hustings. Sharma accused Gehlot of cheating the party high command and not allowing correct feedback. He alleged that the incident of September 25, 2020, was completely sponsored and contempt was committed against the high command. Sharma said he had warned the chief minister many times, but Gehlot did not want any advice.
