Water Projects: Cong Mla Blames Phed Min For Delay In Bisalpur Ii Projects | Jaipur News

Jaipur: With the Public Health and Engineering Department (PHED) failing to meet the deadline of Bisalpur II projects in several areas of Jaipur, local MLAs of the constituency had started attacking minister Mahesh Joshi alleging that the minister intentionally did not allow engineers to complete these projects.
Earlier BJP MLA from Sanganer Ashok Lahoty had criticised the PHED minister, but now, Congress MLA from Adarsh Nagar – Rafeek Khancriticised Joshi too. “When I became the MLA I had personally visited the PHED offices and the chief minister had sanctioned several water schemes that would have benefitted a population of more than 1 lakh people staying in my constituency. However, when Joshi became the minister, he intentionally delayed the projects so that these could not get implemented before elections,” Khan told TOI.
Khan further alleged that Joshi had given additional charge to a woman executive engineer with whom Khan did not have good terms. “It was a planned move and the concerned executive engineer made sure that these projects were delayed. The chief minister himself had ordered the removal of this engineer. Yet, Joshi did not pay heed to the order,” Khan fumed.
Sources among PHED engineers had claimed that the engineer in question is Nisha Sharma, who presently holds the post of executive engineer DN South-III, but also has additional charge for areas under Adarsh Nagar constituency and parts of Hawa Mahal constituency, where Joshi himself is the MLA.
“The MLAs allegation is true to some extent. The water schemes in question could have easily been executed in 2022. But, for reasons unknown, these projects had not been implemented even in October 2023,” said a PHED engineer who did not want to be quoted.
Speaking to TOI, Khan claimed that everything was going on at the right pace till BD Kalla was the PHED minister, but the situation got completely changed in 2022 when Joshi became the minister. “Not only me, but several Congress MLAs in the state are also not happy with his performance. He has deprived the common citizen of the state the basic rights of drinking water,” said Khan.
