JAIPUR: The state has witnessed a sudden spike in dengue cases in the past two weeks (from Aug 30 to Sep 12), with 1,553 persons being tested positive.
In 14 days, Kota reported highest number of dengue cases with 355 persons tested positive for the vector-borne disease, followed by Jaipur (228), Hanumangarh (111), Jhunjhunu (83), Sikar (79), Barmer (75), Tonk (59), Sriganganagar (59) and Alwar (57). Dengue cases have crossed the 4,000-mark this year in the state. Of these, 803 were reported from Jaipur between January 1 and September 12. tnn
