Parking Space: More Parking For Sms Hosp Docs Triggers Protest By Staff | Jaipur News

Jaipur: The Sawai Man Singh (SMS) hospital has issued a notice segregating parking spaces for doctors from other staff members in the hospital. Following the order, nurses, pharmacists, lab technicians, radiographers and other staff protested and boycotted work for two hours on Tuesday morning. They will continue their protest on Wednesday demanding parking space.
“All the hospital staff should be allowed to park their vehicles on a first come basis. If a nursing staff member reaches the hospital first and he finds a vacant space in any of the parking lots, he should not be denied parking space on the basis of designation,” said Pyarelal Chaudhary, state president, Rajasthan Nursing Association.
On October 10, the SMS Hospital had issued an order referring to a meeting held with SMS Medical College principal and controller Dr Rajeev Bagarhatta on October 5 to discuss the parking issue.
The order stated, “Doctors with reserved parking space should park their vehicle on the allocated parking space. Those doctors who have not been allocated parking space will park their vehicles in the basement parking space with entry from Gate 3.”
It further stated, “The nursing staff and other staff members will park their vehicles in the basement parking space of Dhanwantri block.”
