Met office said that a fresh spell of western disturbances got active in the state, especially in the northern and western Rajasthan since Sunday.
“This will lead to cloudy conditions and rainfall till Wednesday. However, from Thursday there is a possibility of vanishing western disturbances which will pave the way for the activation of northerly winds. It appears that from Thursday mild dip in the temperature would be witnessed,” said an officer with the Met office, Jaipur.
People in Jaipur woke up to a cold morning when a minimum temperature of 13.8 degrees Celsius was recorded. It was followed by mild showers in the afternoon in scattered form.

The rainfall in the state since November 27 has been awaited by the farmers sowing Rabi crops across the state. “Rainfall has given enough moisture for the seeds to grow. Usually, this rainfall is seen in mid-December. However, this time last week’s November rainfall has been good for wheat and mustard,” said Somveer Chaudhary, a resident of Dhod village in Sikar.
Also, traffic on the highways connecting Jaipur to Agra, Jaipur to Delhi and Jaipur to Sikar was chaotic during the early morning hours. Vehicles moved at a slow pace due to the poor visibility.
In its forecast for Tuesday, the Met office said that many places in the northern and western parts of the state are likely to witness fog during early morning hours. Also, some parts in the Jaipur, Bharatpur and Ajmer divisions are likely to be covered by clouds.
