Old Pension Plan For Employees Of Boards, Corporations & Univs | Jaipur News

Jaipur: Employees of autonomous and semi-autonomous bodies, boards and corporations, universities and institutes set up after January 1, 2004, will be brought under the old pension scheme (OPS), announced chief minister Ashok Gehlot while presenting the Budget on Friday. Gehlot said he will urge Prime Minister Narendra Modi to implement OPS in the whole country.
The chief minister also announced setting up of Rajasthan Logistical Services Delivery Corporation (RLSDC), on similar lines as REXCO, for direct hiring of contractual employees. This move will abolish the hiring of contractual employees through contractors or placement agencies.
Now, around 1.05 lakh employees of the roadways, power boards, RTDC, RSSML, RIICO, pollution control board and universities and institutes set up after January 1, 2004, will get benefits of OPS. The scheme was restored in the state from April 1, 2022. New Pension Scheme Employees’ Federation of Rajasthan (NPSEFR) state coordinator Vinod Kumar welcomed the state government’s decision to bring autonomous, semi-autonomous bodies, boards and corporations under OPS.
“The officials have identified 75 universities that came into existence after January 1, 2004,” Kumar had earlier said.
The chief minister said options of January 1 and July 1 have been kept to ensure increment of government employees and added that qualifying service for full pension has been reduced from 28 years to 25 years.
Gehlot also said New Rajasthan Part Time Contractual Hiring Rules would be formulated in the coming financial year.
Apart from these, Gehlot announced a 15% increase in honorarium/allowance for the representatives of urban bodies and panchayati raj institutions. Gehlot also announced a relaxation of two years in promotion of government employees.
